Your private driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the famous Drachenburg Castle, where you can enjoy an interesting guided tour through the walls of time.
In 1986, Schloss Drachenburg was placed under a preservation order. In 1989, the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Nature Conservation, Heritage and Cultural Preservation initiated the urgently needed steps towards a comprehensive restoration. Since 1995, the NRW Foundation, in close cooperation with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Königswinter, has carefully restored the Drachenburg Castle ensemble. The special exhibition "Open for Renovation - Insights into the Drachenburg Castle Construction Site" provided visitors with detailed information on the restoration work from 2003 to 2009. Since spring 2010, the restoration work in the castle has been completed and all restored and refurnished rooms are once again open to visitors. The landscape park of the ensemble could be completely finished in 2011.
Since Drachenfels Castle is located in a nature reserve, you can take the Drachenfelsbahn up there.
