This five-star ski chalet combines an enviable location with elegant interiors to create a property that is both relaxing and invigorating. Ski out onto the renowned slopes of Méribel or onwards to Courchevel, feast on succulent steaks with views over the ski slopes to the frosted mountains beyond, or dive into the crystal clear waters of the pool, once again with views of the beckoning slopes.
The 16 rooms and 39 suites play with the traditional concept of a chalet and bring a contemporary splash with a warming color palette, tactile materials and quirky shapes. Nespresso machines, Smart TVs, heating and minibars create a home-from-home on the slopes, while most feature a balcony for morning coffees with a view.
Post-ski appetites have been considered in the planning of the menu at both Bianca Neve and Restaurant Beefbar, with delicious pasta dishes, Australian Wagyu and Japanese Kobe beef joining an extensive wine cellar and irresistibly tempting dessert buffet. Cozy up in the bar for an après-ski warmer or settle down for the evening with live music (on certain nights) and innovative cocktails. After a day of challenging runs, the Tata Harper spa with its indoor and outdoor pools, fitness room, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi is a welcome sight.
With 330 pistes and 155 ski lifts, Le Coucou has access to the biggest ski area in the world for both skiing and snowboarding. Stretching across the three valleys of Méribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens, guests can explore 600km of slopes connected by the summits, with 62,000 vertical meters of skiing. Sledging, hot air balloon rides and snowshoeing add an extra dimension to your stay.
Whether curled up with a book looking out at the ski slopes from the warmth of the bar, or heading out from the hotel directly onto the slopes, Le Coucou offers a welcoming, homely yet stylish escape in the dazzling beauty of the Alps.
