Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The summer season (November to April), also called the 'dry' season, doesn't necessarily mean no rain - but there should be less of it. The 'green' season (May to November) can still be a good time to visit- you can avoid the tourist bustle and lodging is slightly cheaper. During this time, however, rivers start to swell and dirt roads get muddy, making travel more challenging.

Reviews
Cheska Goodwin (Staff)
The Arenas del Mar hotel benefits from a very privileged location, perched atop the cliffs above the Manuel Antonio National Park, the most popular park in Costa Rica. It served us well as a base from which to explore the park, and with its proximity to the beaches, it was really well located. I found the staff to be uber friendly, with a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude, happy to answer all our questions, and make reservations in the restaurant. My top tip would be to arrive at the park as soon as it opens, before the crowds and heat comes in, and try the octopus in the hotel restaurant, it was very tasty!
(Press)
At Costa Rica's first and smallest national park, Manuel Antonio, cute sloths climb trees in slow motion and capuchin monkeys frolic through the rainforest canopy before your eyes. There are tree frogs, snakes and gorgeous beaches - and hordes of tourists. But secluded in its own forest reserve, on a stretch of perfect beach, Arenas del Mar is a blissful antidote. Sophisticated rooms with ocean views in intriguing buildings are designed to blend with the vegetation. Cuisine is top-notch Costa Rican style and the charming staff greet you like old friends.
