Cartagena Vacations
Cartagena was founded in 1533 by Don Pedro de Heredia and is considered to be one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the Americas. It’s located on the Caribbean sea and was once the gateway to the Spanish empire in the New World. The old walled quarter of the city has shady plazas, cobblestone streets, ruined forts, lovely churches and old convents.
There are sandy beaches too, off which you can take a boat out to explore the nearby islands, such as the Islas del Rosario, surrounded by beautiful coral reef.
