The central region of Vietnam has a tropical climate, particularly around Hué and is divided into two distinguished seasons. The dry season (from March to August) has a maximum temperature of 40°C and the colder, rainy season (August to January) has temperatures that can go down to 19°C.
From March to August will be the best time to visit Hue, especially between March and April when the temperature is more pleasant, though rainfalls are still likely. Hue sees fog and rain quite frequently, even when the weather across the Hai Van Pass in nearby Danang is sunny. During the rainy season, between September and January, rain is more frequent and can be heavy.
There are several festivals in Hue and worth taking note in planning your travel. Each year, during the seventh month of the lunar year, Hue celebrates the Duong No ceremony, Vietnamese all souls’ days, and Hon Chen Temple Festival. In addition, every two years, there is a special Hue Festival which lasts for two weeks in June.

AZERAI - La Residence Hue is a stunning art deco style boutique hotel located on the banks of the fabled Perfume River with fantastic views overlooking Hue's former Imperial Citadel, which is well known as a UNESCO world Heritage site.
Hue is a wonderful town to explore by cyclo visiting the ancient citadel or one of the many colorful markets or take a colorful dragon boat along the river to visit the Summer Palace and Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc who died with an incredible 104 wives.
This original Art Deco style hotel is new concept for Hue and is in a stunning location on the banks of the Perfume River that is alive with activity throughout the day. AZERAI - La Residence Hue was formerly a governor's villa set on 2 hectares of land and has been meticulously restored to house 122 rooms and suites, all beautifully light and airy, and most with views across the Perfume River.
The freshest market ingredients are used by the hotel's chefs to create delicious local, regional and international dishes in Restaurant Le Parfum, where cooking classes can also take you on a culinary journey from the market to a hands of lesson in the art of Vietnamese cuisine. Meals can also be enjoyed while cruising on the Perfume River, in the gardens or by candlelight on one of the balconies.
There are 122 rooms and suites at La Residence, most with river views. The Signature Suites have four poster beds, art deco furniture and large terraces. The Colonial Suites are themed individually with decor relating to subjects such as Ancient Egypt or China.
Children and their families are made welcome at The Residence but there are no specific facilities for children except for babysitting.
Restaurant Le Parfum offers delicious local, regional and International cuisine both in the restaurant and at private romantic locations around the hotel. The bar is a destination in itself with an amazing art deco fresco on the wall. There is an opulent spa, amazing saltwater swimming pool, tennis court and fully equipped gym.

Easily one of the best places to stay at in Hue. A former residence of the French Colonial Governor La Residence Hue is now the most reputable hotel to stay at in the city. It is very colonial and still feels quite French despite a significant refurbishment. It is located on the riverside, although the riverside rooms dont have a very clear view of the river. The city center where youll find most of the restaurants and bars is about a 30-minute walk away, so you may need to take a taxi if you go out in the evenings. However, the citadel is much closer and a visit to here is highly recommended. The pool here is wonderful as it is so big with lots of comfy sun loungers and helpful pool attendants. Rooms are pretty good, the lead in rooms are absolutely fine, but upgrade to a Deluxe Room or Suite if you want some more space the Junior Suites are a treat!

This unique art deco style hotel provides a fantastic place to stay in the old Vietnamese capital of Hue. It is a great hotel to wonder round, with art work in abundance, a French influenced design, and a splendid bar in the original part of the hotel. It is brilliantly located just south of the river, with rooms in one of the two wings offering river views. Its situation provides very easy access to The Citadel and Imperial City, which are great places to explore. After some time spent sight-seeing, the salt water swimming pool and spa offer a haven to relax and indulge.

This low key, well established hotel is the perfect place to stay for a couple of nights to visit the interesting sights of Hue. La Residence is extremely well kept and has all the facilities you would need out of your stay in this delightful town. After a delicious breakfast with so much to chose from, a half day of sightseeing in Hue can't be missed. With the fort to wonder round, the pagoda to visit and the area of insence making to stop at, its a never ending cultural experience. At the end of our tour we hopped in the cyclo to get us back to the hotel which allowed us to see more of the town and how the locals live day to day. I was lucky enough to enjoy a Swedish massage in the relaxing spa after our journey through Hue, very much needed!

La Residence is undoubtedly the best hotel in Hue and the location is stunning, right on the banks of the Perfume River. One of my favorite things about the hotel was that just 100m away from the hotel, is a pier from where you can take one of the vibrantly colored dragon boats across the river to explore the lavish tombs of the past rulers of Vietnam. Hue used to be the capital of Vietnam and is bursting with history, both ancient and recent and is now a Unesco World Heritage Site.
