New Mexico can be visited all year around but the temperatures do get very hot in mid summer with highs of 80°F / 26°C but is a dry pleasant heat. The morning and evenings will be cooler as the property is at altitude. Fall/ fall is also a great time to visit as the leaves will be turning and you can see the season change in full glory.

The Auberge Bishop's Lodge is a spectacular property, located just 10 minutes from America's second oldest city, Santa Fe. Situated on 317 secluded acres, the hotel also borders the impressive Santa Fe National Forest.
With traditional kiva fireplaces, woven Navajo rugs and spacious private terraces, the guestrooms at Bishop's Lodge tastefully blend contemporary design with traditional decor and textiles, celebrating local artisans. With a larger floor plan, the suites are better suited to those wishing for more space or a heightened level of relaxation. There is the choice of one- or two-bedroom suites, as well as the Kiva Suites which boast an inviting outdoor plunge pool. Multi-bedroom residences, also referred to as Casitas, allow guests to settle in and stay for a while with the comfort of a private living room, dining room and kitchen. The Chapel House features two master suites and one king room, as well as a private lawn, and is the perfect choice for larger parties wishing for more privacy.
No stay at an Auberge hotel is complete without indulging in lovingly crafted dishes, and Bishop's Lodge is no different. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, including the main restaurant, SkyFire; the SkyFire Bar where handcrafted frosted cocktails are served; and Two Dogs Cafe, from which to enjoy warm pastries, hearty sandwiches and freshly pressed juices. Chef-packed gourmet picnics can also be arranged on request, allowing you to enjoy the Santa Fe National Forest as your backdrop.
As well as high-end picnics, guests at Bishop's Lodge can enjoy sunset horseback rides, private mescal tastings and bespoke tours of Santa Fe itself. For those looking to unwind, why not take part in a candlelit crystal bowl sound bathing meditation class at Turquesa Healing Arts Studio. A multitude of spa treatments can also be enjoyed here from traditional massages to rebalance chakras.
Guestrooms at Bishop’s Lodge are cosy sanctuaries and feature private terraces, kiva fireplaces and sophisticated Southwestern decor. The guestrooms are available in double queen or king bed configurations, and with either a Resort Views or Valley View.
The suites offer a larger floor plan than the guestrooms, and boast private terraces, kiva fireplaces and separate seating areas. The Kiva Suites are individual free-standing king suites located in a secluded corner of the property and feature an indoor kiva fireplace and large bathroom with stone rain shower and bathtub, as well as a private plunge pool and sweeping views of the resort and valley below.
The12-bedroom Bunkhouse is crafted from reclaimed barn wood and is the ideal retreat for large families. The Bunkhouse features an expansive great room, vaulted ceilings, and a 2-story stone fireplace.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Bishop's Lodge, however, there are no specific child care facilities available at the hotel.
The SkyFire restaurant features an expansive menu with dishes driven by storied ingredients grown or produced by local artisan purveyors, whilst The Bar features innovative craft cocktail creations. For a more relaxed environment, guests can enjoy rustic sandwiches, fresh salads, cold-pressed juices and savory pastries at the Two Dogs Cafe.
The Turquesa Healing Arts Studio features a well-equipped fitness studio, 5 treatment rooms, private spa pool, outdoor yoga and guided meditation, and a movement studio offering complimentary group classes each morning.
The hotel features a selection of complimentary experiences for all guests including: daily group yoga classes, guided group hikes, casting and fly-tying clinics, use of hiking poles and snowshoe gear, stable visits, and a shuttle service to downtown Santa Fe.
