Average time to visit
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

Description
Rabot Hotel is a stunning boutique hotel set on the exclusive Rabot Estate with glorious Piton views. Set among the rainforest and famed for being the home of the Hotel Chocolat Cacao farm; a unique blend of St Lucian charm and contemporary style.
Rabot is a chic hotel for adults only set on the exclusive Rabot Estate and offers the unique experience of staying within the heart of the renowned Hotel Chocolat Cacao farm which dates back to the 17th century.
With only fourteen cottages and lodges, guests are ensured a relaxed and intimate stay making Rabot ideal for romantic breaks and honeymoons. All accommodations are cooled by the natural Caribbean breezes and many overlook the spectacular Piton Mountains. With little extras such as Open sky rain showers, Cacao products, iPod docks and complimentary chocolate and nibbles, guests may be reluctant to leave their room, but leave you must to explore this fascinating hotel and its surrounds.
Scott Dunn guests at the hotel have the opportunity to visit the Cacao farm for an insight into how the Rabot Estate works and each guest is invited to the “Tree to Bar” experience, when guests can create their own chocolate!
The hotel’s restaurant, Rabot, is renowned for inventive and exceptional cuisine in this part of the island, offering Cacao cuisine, imaginative fare with the Hotel Chocolat twist. Scott Dunn recommends that all our guests visit here to dine even if they are not staying as the views out to the Pitons and sunset make this an unmissable experience.
Although not on the beach, the hotel offers a regular shuttle service taking under ten minutes down to the white sands at Sugar Beach during the day where guests can swim, snorkel and kayak, diving is also available here and sun loungers can be provided. For those that are happy to stay put and enjoy the rainforest experience there is a swimming pool and plenty of decks for lounging. There is also the Cacao Spa which offers a cooling sanctuary in the grounds, with signature treatments harnessing the essence of the cacao experience.
Hotel Chocolat offers a unique experience, ideal for a few days before or after a beach stay in St Lucia or simply for a completely different and indulgent week away. As this is a working Cacao farm guests will experience some noise from plant machinery at certain times of the day.
Please note that due to the steep terrain, Rabot Hotel From Hotel Chocolat cannot accommodate wheelchairs and children under 12 years of age.

A haven for couples and not suited for children. Set back from the beach so guests can enjoy the two pools at the hotel with views of the pitons. A boutique feel to it, with the rooms all open to the elements to make you feel close to nature. A fantastic restaurant with a huge selection to choose from on the menu.

A great restaurant, set on a Cocoa plantation with trendy rooms is how I would describe Boucan. The vibe here was very much couples, many honeymooners and the atmosphere social. With a really great play list in the bar, sit back and enjoy a rum cocktail and take in the views of the Pitons. The south is my favorite area of St Lucia and this is a great base for those wanting to get out and explore, the Gros Piton trek, Sulphur Springs and snorkeling at Sugar Beach are all within a short drive away.

Boucan by Hotel Chocolat is a beautiful contemporary hotel with traditional West Indian charm, a real must for chocolate lovers! With only 14 lodges there is a real feeling of peace and intimacy here, where you can relax and unwind and enjoy the views of the breathtaking Piton Mountains. A real stand out for me here was the warm welcome and friendliness of the staff here.
A place where you find yourself immersed in the laid back atmosphere, whether it's enjoying a sundowner cocktail at the bar or treating yourself to a soothing treatment at the Cocoa Juvenate Spa, I recommend the Cacao Detox Body Wrap.
You can relax by the striking infinity black quartz pool which is 50 feet long and looks directly at the Pitons or enjoy one of the fun experiences they offer here such as their signature Tree to Bar experience.
Each lodge has its own iPod and iPod dock and you are welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and rum as well as a daily cookie treat! They also offer a complimentary laundry service.
I would recommend staying her for 2-3 nights as a perfect start or finish to any vacation to St Lucia.

As a self-confessed chocoholic, Boucan Hotel Chocolate was paradise for me. The 14 lodges are wonderfully spacious, and are beautifully contemporary in style. I particularly loved the stunning rainforest showers.

Boucan by Hotel Chocolat- I find is incredible to go for about 3 nights..This is a stunning Boutique style hotel with 14 lodges set in the famous a Cocoa Plantation of Hotel Chocolat - Rabot Estate with glorious Piton views. I find this one of the most Unique hotels in the Caribbean. The food is amazing, everything with a Chocolate twist! A Foodies Heaven! I wouldnt be surprised if they are on the way to a Michelin Star! The View of the Pitons is one of the most breath taking sites you will ever see, a little like the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland, you are just Mesmerised by it!
The rooms used to be called Coco Pods, now they are known as lodges, with romantic 4 Poster beds with mosquito net, and little pots with chocolate delights. The keys are even carved into a Cocoa pod shape with your lodge number engraved on them. The Infinity Pool with the view of the Pitons is out of this world and I have many a photo with the reflection of the pitons up close.
I highly recommend the amazing Fillet steak on the menu, Plus the super plantation tour, where you see all of the different colored chocolat pods and you can Graft your own tree! This experience is where you place together a new plant with the mother plant (The flavor of Hotel Chocolat that we all know and love) and you make a little nick and cling film them together for the flavor can carry on! They will plant your tree for you and you can go back to visit it in time to come. A nice little touch and I think you may like to do this for your honeymoon and perhaps return to see how the tree is coming along, especially when the yellow, green and red chocolate pods start to grow.
Please do see my Blog I wrote after I stayed here http://blog.scottdunn.com/post/16461440876/chocoholics-this-post-is-for-you

A perfect place for chocoholics - in the cuisine they try to incorporate as much chocolate as possible in the menu. It is still a working plantation. You can even make your own chocolate on the Tree to Bar experience.
