With Sigiriya Rock Fortress as its backdrop, Water Garden Sigiriya hotel is a modern take on the 2,000 year old water garden found at the ancient ruins. Designed by renowned architect Channa Daswatte, this luxury hotel is as much about the views as it is the interiors.
Spread across 35 acres, each villa has been carefully styled in keeping with its setting. There are 30 villas in total divided into three categories. The superior Deluxe Room and the Duplex Villas in particular are a perfect choice as they feature a private plunge pool. The Duplex Villa is ideal for larger groups or families.
There are two dining options - the main restaurant and twin level bar, found either side of the main pool with views towards Sigiriya Rock. The twin level bar is a great way to begin an evening, sit out on the upper floor terrace and take in the views while sipping on a cocktail. Below, the main restaurant is very chic and serves a mixture of Sri Lankan dishes and international cuisine. Alternatively enjoy a private dining in an outdoor setting under the stars. Here you can enjoy a romantic dinner by candlelight.

Sigiriya Rock
The Sigiriya rock rises majestically from the jungle floor. It is famous for its ‘mirror wall’, so called because of its highly polished surface. Half-way up there are galleries with frescoes in brilliant tempera. Sigirya dates from the 5th century AD.
