The brainchild of former CEO of J Crew and Anthropologie, Jim Brett, the two villas, Maison Noir and Villa Verte, can be booked for sole use or as nine individual suites. Brett’s fashion credentials ensure the interiors are design-conscious with hand painted wallpaper, botanical themed soft furnishings, chic grey sofas, and stylish African artifacts. Sustainability is paramount here and the villas have been constructed using natural materials, including local wood and concrete.
Each villa enjoys access to a heated pool, cinema, and wine cellar, stocked with an extensive range of fine wines, while each suite offers spacious accommodation including a TV lounge, bathtub, and shower. For extra privacy and a separate garden, book a Master Suite in Maison Noir, while the villa’s Luxury Suites with Loft include an outdoor shower and sink-in concrete bath. Alternatively, the suites in Villa Verte offer a lounge balcony and the Grand Master Suite includes a work-from-home office facility.
Both breakfast and lunch are included, along with beverages and drinks. Meals are created from homegrown and local organic produce in keeping with the sustainable and healthy ethos. Harvest table lunches include a spread of salads and meats, designed as a food journey. Guests are also free to help themselves to the herbs, vegetables and fruits grown in the gardens and there are shared kitchens and outdoor barbeques for home cooked dinners. Alternatively, some of Cape Town’s best restaurants are within a short drive.
With an emphasis on wellbeing, guests can enjoy daily yoga, a fitness center, natural spring water immersion pool and access to the Sensorium Spa. The four-room spa has been designed to soothe all five senses and is a temple to tranquillity. The concierge service can also arrange for curated wellness experiences including tai chi, acupuncture, sound healing, forest bathing, conscious breathwork and guided meditation.
Also included in any stay are airport transfers, high speed Wi-Fi and a laundry service. The hotel’s sustainability credentials are impressive, with all plastics banned, water sourced from a nearby borehole and eco-friendly bath products.
