Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Fall and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Fall (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.
We design each itinerary around you, so this suggested itinerary is a starting point that we can tweak or transform into something completely bespoke to you. Call us on 858 523 9000 to start planning your vacation.
Itinerary
Combine the mountains of Nepal and the beaches of Oman, a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, with some fascinating culture to witness and explore, as well as a touch of soft trekking in the Annapurna Range. Simply the perfect honeymoon.
-
Days 1-4: Dhulikel
Start your honeymoon with a stay in Dhulikhel to completely relax and unwind, which we imagine will be important after all of the excitement of the wedding.
Accommodation: Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel (3 nights)
-
Days 4-5: Annapurna Region
From Dhulikel you'll drive to Kathmandu in order to connect with your onward flight to Pokhara, from where you will begin your three-night trek in the Annapurna Range. The views here are some of the best you find across the whole Himalayan region. During the trek you will have your own sherpa and private guide who will walk at exactly the pace you want. The treks usually take 3-4 hours a day, before arriving at the next lodge where you can sit down with a steaming cup of Nepali tea (or 'chia' as it is known) and look over some of the highest mountains in the world.
Your first night on the trek will be in the Modi River Valley offering beautiful views of the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain. For the more active, your guide can take you on longer afternoon walks which take you further off the beaten path.
Accommodation: Sanctuary Lodge (1 night)
-
Days 5-6: Annapurna Region
Continuing the trek, today you will venture over to Ghandruk passing farmland and forests and on the way you will be completely rewarded by your hard work from the day with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
Accommodation: Himalaya Lodge (1 night)
-
Days 6-7: Annapurna Region
The landscapes and scenes change again today as you depart Ghandruk and head for your next destination, Majgaun. On the walk you are likely to meet donkey and mule trains on the trade route to and from the Gurkha settlements. Buffaloes and grazing goats are also not an un common sight in the surrounding fields of this area.
Accommodation: Gurung Lodge (1 night)
-
Days 7-9: Kathmandu
Today you will complete the walk as you travel back down though sub-tropical forests full of tree orchids, rhododendrons and magnolias – a spectacular way to end the trek. Added further to the beauty you will have panoramic and sweeping views of the Annapurna Range. On completing the walk you will be met by your private car and driven to Pokhara airport where you will connect to your short internal flight to Kathmandu where you'll spend the next two nights.
Once you have taken some time to unwind from the trek you will have a full day to explore the city. Your private guide will be able to tailor your tour on the day but would suggest making time to see highlights such as Kathmandu Durbar Square and the ancient town of Bhaktapur which is full of history and culture with some of the best-preserved examples of traditional architecture in the homes and courtyards of the areas.
Accommodation: Dwarika's (2 nights)
-
Days 9-14: Muscat
From Kathmandu take a direct flight to Muscat where you will have your final five nights on the beach to completely relax. We can of course arrange day trips to the desert at Wahiba Sands, or journeys into the Hajar Mountains.
Overall, this itinerary is a perfect 'sandwich' honeymoon - plenty of time to relax at the start of your honeymoon to get over all the excitement of the wedding, then a wonderful adventure with fascinating experiences in the middle, before ending with a lengthy spell on the beach.
Accommodation: The Chedi Muscat (5 nights)
