Look at the German architecture in town

Swakopmund is almost more German than Germany today with examples of wonderful colonial German architecture all around the town. The amazing light in the early morning and later afternoon make it a great spot for photography as the Namibian coastline can be distinctly foggy creating an amazingly unique quality of light in town.
A prime example of this wonderful architecture is the single-storey Prinzessin Rupprecht Heim that was constructed in 1902 as a military hospital. In 1914 it was transferred to the Bavarian Women's Red Cross, and is named after their patron, Princess Rupprecht, wife of the Bavarian crown prince.
