Highlights
Float down the lazy currents of the Okavango River on a boat cruise as fish eagles call from the banks and hippos snort in the distance.
Immerse yourself in the magic of the Caprivi on Hakusembe's floating deck, where all the colors of the sunset are painted into the water all around.
Try your hand at catching the river's voracious predator, tiger fish, as the sun slowly starts to set in the golden afternoon light.
Slide into relaxation by the pool in the cool shade of palm trees, as the gentle hum of the African bush serenades and the Okavango River glimmers close by.
The lodge itself is a collection of twenty thatched chalets along a strip of sparkling river. This tranquil location offers a calm respite from the dusty roads of the rest of Namibia and is the perfect place to sit and watch river birds and locals heading up and down the river. Floating decks provide a peaceful spot to watch the world go by and a swimming pool located in the gardens is a great place to cool off. The rest of the main area comprises a restaurant and a bar with a small seating area. All chalets are overlooking the Okavango River, offering guests stunning views throughout their stay.
Activities from Hakusembe River Lodge include guided river safaris, an early morning guided bird watching walk, (over 400 species have been spotted locally), bream and tiger-fishing, and the very popular sunset cruises where refreshments and sundowners are included.
