Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge is not only the gateway to southern Namibia, but also the perfect location to explore the Kalahari Desert's incredible flora and fauna with the array of activities on offer. A minimum two night stay is recommended to make the most of your time in this part of Namibia.
The lodge consists of 12 rondavel-style thatched huts with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and a tea / coffee station. The rooms are stylish yet rustic with a San-inspired decor with a small stone patio allowing guests to enjoy the Kalahari Desert vistas.
Guests can enjoy cooling off in the pool, that is often visited by the odd Oryx, or relaxing in the main area where there is plenty of comfortable seating, a bar and a restaurant. The reason Imagine Africa suggests a minimum two night stay here is for you to take advantage of the numerous activities on offer that allow you to explore the local area. Activities on offer include sunset game drives in open-air 4x4 vehicle or quad bike, walk with the San Bushman or simply relax at the lodge with a massage. For those looking for the wow factor, a dune dinner is a must.
