Patzcuaro
Patzcuaro combines its Spanish colonial history with an altogether older indigenous heritage, lending the city an air of mystery which comes into its own during the renowned Day of the Dead celebrations. As the city erupts a colorful, playful, lively celebration, Patzcuaro’s attractive plazas are filled with people, flowers and food in an unforgettable fiesta.
At other times of the year, Patzcuaro is a more sedate, contemplative city, though fiestas can take place throughout the year, transforming it once again.
