Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.

The stunning mountainous landscape of Jordan have drawn travelers for ages, but its rough-hewn grandeur has remained a secret known only to thrill-seekers. Here, we bring you off-the-beaten into Petra through "the backdoor", a water walk through scenic sandstone canyon, up to the highs of Dana Nature Reserve and through the Soap Trail walk to appreciate Ajloun's local industry.

  1. Days 1-3: Amman

Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour of Amman, covering highlights such as the Citadel Hill, Roman Amphitheater, Archaeological & Jordan Folklore Museums.

On your next day, drive north to Ajloun to begin your Soap House Trail. Walk through a beautiful evergreen forest reserve, ending at the Soap House in Orjan Village where the local ladies make natural soap. Onwards, continue to Jerash, an archaeological site with theaters, temples and churches.

    Accommodation: W Amman (2 nights)

  2. Days 3-4: Dead Sea - Jordan Side

Bid farewell to Amman. Make a visit to St. George Church in Madaba to admire the beautiful mosaics, as well as a drive up to Mount Nebo. This is the site where Moses once viewed the Holy Land from.

Arrive in the afternoon at Dead Sea. You will have free time at leisure here to try your hand at floating in the mineral-rich water of the Dead Sea. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Accommodation: Movenpick Resort and Spa Dead Sea (1 night)

  3. Days 4-5: Dana Nature Reserve

Next day, you will depart to Kerak, a Crusader's Castle with medieval design harboring a maze of halls and passageways. Afterwards, enjoy 2-3 hours of water walk along the narrow stream of Wadi bani Hamad, renowned as one of Jordan's most beautiful canyons.

Continue to Dana Nature Reserve. After a good night's rest, start your morning with a 2km walk along Nawatef Trail to appreciate the beauty of the nature reserve before transferring to Petra.

    Accommodation: Dana Guesthouse (1 night)

  4. Days 5-7: Petra

We dedicate an entire day to explore Petra. Instead of going through the classic route, we will let you enter Petra from the backdoor. Trek through the winding back roads with panoramic mountain vistas, arriving at the famous Monastery whilst visitors are still at the start of the site. From here, we will trek backwards towards the Nabataean tombs, the Treasury and the Siq.

At night, enjoy a unique Petra by Night experience with thousands of candles to accompany you as you walk your way to the Treasury.

Accommodation: Movenpick Resort Petra (2 nights)

  5. Days 7-8: Wadi Rum

Transfer to Wadi Rum and enjoy a jeep safari through its stunning desert mountain vistas, which have long inspired Lawrence of Arabia for its Martian-like landscape. Optional camel safari and hot air balloon is available at additional cost.

After a night at the desert to enjoy the beautiful night sky, next morning we will depart to Aqaba for a city tour with the Aqaba Castle, museum and the aquarium. Afterwards, depart to Aqaba airport to catch your flight home.

Accommodation: Memories Aicha Luxury Camp (1 night)
