Ashford Castle dates from the 13th century and elements of the original structure remain. Added to through the course of history the castle is now an amazing amalgam of architecture with the French style chateau parts added in the 18th century and then Victorian additions added later. Cullen's at the Dungeon has more traditional cuisine but is in a remarkable setting underneath the castle and surrounded by suits of armour, breast plates, crest of arms and stained glass windows.
