Nestled on the shores of Lance aux Épines on Grenada's southern coast, Calabash Hotel is one of the island's most established boutique retreats. Named after the calabash tree, whose hard-shelled fruit has traditionally been used as bowls, containers and musical instruments, the family-owned hotel has been welcoming guests since 1987. A member of Relais & Châteaux and holder of Two MICHELIN Keys, it pairs warm Grenadian hospitality with attentive service in a relaxed beachfront setting.
The hotel's 36 suites are set among tropical gardens leading down to the beach, creating a sense of space and privacy. Each features a private balcony or terrace, while selected suites include private plunge pools. Larger accommodation options are available for families and small groups.
Dining is a highlight, with contemporary cuisine at Rhodes Restaurant, Japanese-inspired dishes at Nori and relaxed beachfront dining at The Beach Club. Guests can also enjoy an infinity pool, spa, fitness suite, tennis and pickleball courts, yoga sessions and complimentary non-motorised watersports, including kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkeling.
A short drive from Maurice Bishop International Airport, Calabash is particularly well suited to couples, food lovers and those seeking an intimate alternative to a larger Caribbean resort. Combining award-winning dining, a peaceful beachfront location and genuine family-run hospitality, it remains one of Grenada's most highly regarded places to stay.
