Gyirong
Located in Southwest Tibet, Gyirong is located at an elevation of 2,700 meters and feature a subtropical mountain climate which is a vast difference from the rest of Tibet. The journey between the Everest Base Camp and Gyirong passes through some of the most spectacular mountain peaks in the Himalaya.

Historically, this town has formed an important cross border trading between China and Nepal, especially following the April 2015 earthquake which had closed the other border in Zhangmu.
