Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The most pleasant months to visit are October to April. Summer (November to April) is hot and there is lots of sunshine. Over winter (June to September) you’ll see the Andes wreathed in snow and can ski nearby, but the weather is chilly and rain can be an issue. Spring-like September is Chile's national independence month, and is full of activity.

Let us show you the very best of Chile’s majestic landscapes. From the energetic city of Santiago, surrounded by the snow-capped Andes, to the spectacular mountain peaks and glaciers of Torres del Paine and the otherworldly scenery of the Atacama Desert. This is an utterly spellbinding trip and you will leave feeling totally mesmerized by this captivating country.

  1. Fly to Santiago

  2. Days 1-3: Santiago

Touching down in Santiago, sprawled across a valley and encased by towering snow-draped peaks, you’ll be met by your driver and whisked away to your hotel. This evening head out in the bohemian Lastarria town and indulge in typical Chilean cuisine. The following day we recommend taking a private tour of the city, led by one of our recommended expert guides. Heading into Downtown Santiago, you will first visit Santa Lucia Hill which has sweeping views of the city, then stopping off at the La Moneda Palace and the Armas main square. Amble past the city’s best food markets and street entertainers before taking a stroll through leafy Forestal Park, a peaceful break from the frenetic energy of the city.

    Accommodation: Hotel Magnolia (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-6: Patagonia

Escape the city and journey to the breathtakingly beautiful Torres Del Paine National Park, where towering, jagged mountains meet glistening azure lakes. Your wilderness home for the next 3 nights is Patagonia Camp, comprised of stylish yurts nestled in the forest, with astonishing views of the lake. This intimate contact with nature provides you with the ultimate glamping experience. Lean into limitless as you experience freedom as you never have before, hiking past powerful waterfalls and turquoise waters, navigating through native forests and marvelling at glaciers dominating the landscapes. Take to the tranquil waters on kayak and watch the water ripple ahead of you as you paddle into varying tones, from deep blue to dazzling turquoise. In the evenings after your action-packed days, you’ll be rewarded with a glass of exquisite organic wine and indulgent cuisine.

    Accommodation: Patagonia Camp (3 nights)

  4. Days 6-9: The Lake District

Continuing on, your next stop will be the picturesque Lake District region, specifically Puerto Varas. Your home for the next 3 nights is Hotel AWA, an absolute gem with sensational views across Lake Llanquihue. There are a myriad of experiences you can enjoy here to really immerse yourself in the Chilean lake landscapes. Climb the Osorno Volcano, hike to the icy blue Petrohue Falls, or try your hand at fly-fishing on the lake. Let your excitement wander as you take a trip to the untouched archipelago of Chiloe, an area of Chile that still practices many ancient traditions. The islands have an aura of mythology and meeting the locals will most certainly be an experience to remember forever.

    Accommodation: Hotel AWA (3 nights)

  5. Days 9-12: Northern Chile & Atacama Desert

Now you’ll venture to the Atacama Desert, a stark contrast to the scenery you’ve seen so far. The highest and driest desert in the world, it affords some of the most spell-binding landscapes and is a traveler’s dream. Your desert home for the next three nights is Alto Atacama, an eco-lodge set just outside of San Pedro against the impressive desert backdrop. The lack of pollution combined with its clear desert nights make the Atacama one of the most incredible places on earth to stargaze. For the next 3 days you can fully immerse yourself in this desert wilderness. This afternoon head out to Moon Valley and be astonished by the unearthly landscapes, made up of dunes, caverns and natural depressions, creating moon-like scenery. Top off your day by clambering up a dune in time for sunset and watch the burnt orange glow of the sun settle on the otherworldly landscape surrounding you.

The following morning you will rise early, so you can visit the spectacular Tatio Geysers at sunrise. These are part of the highest geometric field in the world, where water and steam powerfully surge up from the earth. We also recommend a visit to the Altiplanic Lagoons, where you can observe rare Andean flamingos reflected on the glistening water and witness bizarre landscapes of enormous salt flats. You will also have ample opportunities to bike and hike through this captivating region.

Accommodation: Nayara Alto Atacama (3 nights)

  6. Days 12-13: Santiago

Today you will travel back to Santiago and enjoy the last night of your trip. Why not head to one of the finest restaurants in the city and indulge in authentic cuisine and fruity wines, reminiscing on your epic journey through Chile before catching your flight home the following morning.
