Itinerary
This itinerary offers the perfect combination of Sweden and Finland, where you’ll visit both of the country’s charming capital cities along with heading off the beaten track into the wilderness of Lapland. Away from artificial lights, in remote locations you’ll experience the serenity of this winter wonderland, offering plenty of space to try out some thrilling winter activities and maximize your chances of spotting the Northern Lights- a majestic playground for everyone.

Days 1-2: Helsinki
You’ll begin in Finland and the capital city of Helsinki. Helsinki is known as a hub for design and architecture and during a guided city tour of this enchanting city you’ll get a chance to walk past beautiful buildings portraying characteristics of both Neoclassical and modern architecture. The striking Temppeliaukio Church has been built into solid rock, topped with a stunning copper dome and is not to be missed. Helsinki is a city built around the water and has a maritime feel, where the buildings are beautifully reflected by the calm waters.

Days 2-3: Finnish Lapland
A short hour and a half domestic flight to Kittilä airport takes you into the depths of Finnish Lapland, where the Northern Lights Village Levi is just a further 30-minute drive away. Sleeping under a glass roof whilst- if you're in luck! - the Northern Lights dance above is an experience on many people’s bucket list and an Aurora Cabin at the Northern Lights Village is the perfect place to experience this.

Days 3-7: Swedish Lapland
The next stage of your journey takes you over the border into Sweden, a scenic drive taking around two and a half hours. The Lapland Guesthouse is a family-owned Guesthouse where you’ll have a personalized experience as you are welcomed by the charming owners. The Guesthouse is a true winter wonderland with so many activities on offer you are sure not to get bored. Highlights here include husky dog sledding, where you’ll learn the commands to lead the excited pack into the wilderness and speed off into the surrounding landscape. If you prefer the roar of an engine, set out on a snowmobile tour where you’ll cover vast distances, over frozen lakes to reach the heart of this wonderland.

Days 7-8: Stockholm and Eastern Sweden
After an action-packed 4-night stay your final stop takes you to Sweden’s capital; Stockholm. You have the option of taking a short detour to visit the iconic Ice hotel where you’ll be able to view the intricate ice carvings and details that make up this stunning structure, made entirely from ice! From here it’s a short transfer to Kiruna for your domestic flight down to Stockholm. A private, guided tour through the city takes you to Stockholm City Hall and past other beautiful buildings such as the Royal Palace and the Cathedral. Built around the water, Stockholm is actually spread across 14 buildings, yet an intricate collection of bridges and a fantastic transport system make it incredibly easy to explore.
