An extra benefit of Cape Weligama is the variety of board basis options. Half Board includes dinner at the main restaurant. There is also an All Inclusive option with includes all of the Bed & Breakfast extras as well as lunch and dinner at main restaurant, drinks including house wine and spirits throughout the day, and refills of the soft drinks in your minibar.
Cape Weligama is set in 12 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds, and is positioned on a headland jutting out to sea, ensuring you look out at a breathtaking panoramic 270 degree view across the Indian Ocean. Add in a 60m crescent shaped infinity pool and you can imagine what a wonderful setting Cape Weligama provides.
The 40 free-standing villas and suites have been designed to give reflect a traditional Sri Lankan village whilst using stylish, contemporary interiors, cleverly balancing colonial influences with luxurious finishes. The accommodation at Weligama is split into Residences and Villas.
The Residences are set within eight Wattas (or 'gardens') and each Watta has two or three free standing Residences with a 15x4m pool shared between them. They are also close to the crescent-shaped Moon Pool which has beautiful views over the ocean.
The four villas contain four suites in each, two on each floor and they can be interconnected which is a great option for families. The Villas surround the Cove Pool. The villas and Residences come with its very own butler who is at your beck and call to provide drinks and snacks.
The food at Cape Weligama is an absolute highlight, using fresh produce and made to order dishes which also offer a great deal of variety. Whether it is a delicious fresh-fruit platters with custom-made juices for breakfast, to the local catch of the day in the evening - Cape Weligama's culinary offering will not disappoint. There are three different restaurants; the De Mauny Dining Pavilion overlooking the bay, Kumbuk an alfresco Sri Lankan village style restaurants and Misaki, a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. There is a tea pavilion and the Moon Bar which is great for a quick candle-lit drink or two before or after dinner, overlooking the Indian Ocean.
There is a fully equipped gym and two beaches (West and East) which can be accessed by staircase from the resort. Given the location of the resort, these beaches are virtually private.
The joy of Cape Weligama's location is the possibility to explore Sri Lanka by day and retreat back to its welcoming arms by night. Galle is just 45-minutes away, and well worth a day exploring its historic fort. For the more active you can explore remote coves by kayak, or try your hand at surfing. Jump on a bicycle and explore the nearby villages and ancient temples or take a drive to see one of Sri Lanka's nature reserves in Yala or Uda Walawe.
