Tucked away just a short drive from the historic Galle Fort, The Sun House is a villa steeped in history, dating back to the 1860s. Once home to a Scottish spice merchant, the villa retains its colonial charm, a testament to Galle’s past as a bustling trading port.
Arrack, a traditional spirit that has been crafted in Sri Lanka for centuries, is distilled from coconut wine and aged in oak casks. It’s believed to be one of the world’s oldest spirits, with a legacy that could possibly date back to the 5th century.
During the experience, you’ll sample five arrack-based cocktails, sourced from the best distilleries and meticulously paired with a range of Sri Lankan dishes. From the rich, seafood-infused Jaffna Odiyal Kool to the island's iconic Kottu and hoppers, each pairing highlights the diverse culinary heritage of Sri Lanka. This journey through flavours and time is a unique way to discover local heritage and cuisine.
