Step aboard one of the resorts fleet of 12 seater Eaglemaster boats and be whisked off into untapped territory, searching for eagles, seals, dolphins and even the most exciting find in this part of the world grizzly bears! Only an hour from the resort is a great spot for watching the grizzlies play with their cubs or heading into September and October, watch them catch salmon as they go to spawn, an absolute must to experience once in a lifetime.
For fishing enthusiasts, Sonora is a haven, with some of the most exciting salmon fishing on the West coast and some of the best guides to ensure you head for just the right spots. Bring your catch back and watch it prepared for your dinner, as fresh as it could possibly be!
For those who prefer to fly fish, the surrounding lakes and rivers teem with trout so perfect for the most experienced or even a first time angler.
Beyond the fishing and wildlife, Sonora still thrills with an array of wonderful experiences. Take a helicopter up to a mountain glacier vantage point no one else can reach and enjoy a gourmet picnic on what feels like the top of the world. Kayak through the calm waters of the Outer Discovery Islands with seasoned guides. Enjoy a movie in the resort's own movie theatre, indulge in a treatment in the luxurious spa, swim in the heated outdoor pool, with it's breathtaking views over the sound or simply relax with a book in the resorts charming conservatory.
With only 88 rooms and suites in total, the resort still retains it's intimate and personal feel. Split into 12 individual lodges, each set of rooms has it's own comfortable lounge, complete with floor to ceiling windows to make the most of that breath taking view. Families are well catered for with adjacent rooms and plenty of space.
Even dining is a treat at Sonora, with chef Terry Pichor casting a guiding eye over the flavours that the guests enjoy. Sourcing the finest local ingredients and transforming them into a culinary celebration of this spectacular region is all part of the plan and ensures guests experience mouth watering cuisine.
A stay at Sonora is on an all inclusive basis with all meals and beverages included. Guests can choose their daily activities and some will come at additional cost. However, this ensures you choose what you want to do, do as little or as much as you desire.
