It is very difficult to predict the weather in the United Kingdom - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but the UK does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but the Christmas atmosphere in London is not to be missed.

Day 1 - Welcome to Scotland
Upon your arrival at Edinburgh airport, your private driver will be waiting to greet your family and transfer you to your luxurious city-centre hotel. As you settle into your elegant accommodations, take a moment to unwind and soak in the ambiance of Scotland’s historic capital. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.
Day 2 - Exploring Edinburgh
Enjoy a private tour of Edinburgh, where history and fun come together for a memorable family day. Start at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and explore the Royal Mile, discovering hidden gems, quirky shops, and fascinating stories. At Edinburgh Castle, kids can explore interactive exhibits, see the Crown Jewels, and watch the One O’Clock Gun.
For an optional magical twist, add a Harry Potter-themed experience to your day. Stroll through Greyfriars Kirkyard and Victoria Street, the inspiration for Diagon Alley. Afterward, perhaps enjoy some downtime at Princes Street Gardens, the afternoon is free to spend at your leisure.

Day 3 - Journey to the Valley of Glencoe
Today your main driver guide will meet your family at your hotel and you will set off for the west coast. The highlight of the day will be getting up close and personal with birds of prey in a thrilling private falconry experience. You will have the adrenaline rush of magnificent creatures flying overhead and swooping low to land like a feather on your outstretched arm, a truly unique experience. Have time here to be mesmerised by the grace and poise of the birds of prey before continuing your travels further into the highlands.

Day 4 - Steam Train & Scenic Cycling Adventure
Today your family will enjoy an adventure of a lifetime on the The Hogwarts Express. (Don’t forget to bring your wand!) Board the iconic Jacobite steam train, and enjoy the unforgettable journey to Mallaig in the first class carriage. Pass through some of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes and follow in the foots steps of Harry Potter by crossing the renowned Glenfinnan Viaduct. On arrival in Mallaig, meet your guide and enjoy a delicious lunch in the charming coastal village.
Afterward, return by vehicle to Fort William, where your afternoon is set for a scenic cycling adventure. Pedal through stunning surroundings, from serene lochs to majestic mountain views, soaking up the beauty of the Highlands before concluding your day of exploration.

Day 7 - Reindeer Herd & Beaver Trail
After breakfast, head south towards Gleneagles, with a special stop in Aviemore to visit the famous Cairngorm Reindeer herd. Enjoy a private tour, where you’ll have the chance to meet these majestic animals in their natural habitat and take part in a hand-feeding session. Learn about their care and how they thrive in the sub-arctic conditions of the Cairngorm Mountains.
Depending on your energy levels, explore the Beaver Trail in the ancient Caledonian pine forest, home to beavers reintroduced in 2023. Visit Lochan Mor and enjoy the chance to spot these fascinating creatures. Then, continue your drive south to Gleneagles, where more adventures await.
Day 8 - Free Day at Gleneagles
Spend the day enjoying all of the wonderful activities that the Glorious Playground has to offer. From family Falconry to off roading and from pony trekking to golf there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Day 9 - A Day at Leisure
On the final day of your family adventure, enjoy another full day at leisure at Gleneagles. Take time to relax and unwind as a family in the beautiful surroundings. You can spend the day exploring the grounds, enjoying outdoor activities, or simply relaxing at the spa. With plenty of family-friendly options, including nature walks and leisurely moments together, it’s a perfect way to reflect on your Scottish journey before heading home.
Day 10 - Depart
A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation today and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
