A fantastic base from which to explore the charming and uncrowded Salento region.
Charming gardens with an inviting swimming pool surrounded by olive trees
La Fiermontina is a 16-room boutique hotel, nestled into the walls of Lecce's 'centro storico' surrounded by charming squares and baroque churches.
The hotel was completed in 2015 by the Parisian owner Giacomo Fiermonte and is something of a 'labour of love', a tribute to his Puglian grandmother, Antonia, whom he describes as a 'legendary character'. She married a French Sculptor and left him for another artist who happened to be his best friend. Her brother Enzo was a champion boxer turned film actor, who married Lady Astor. Stories of the colourful lives of his ancestors inspired Giacomo to dedicate the conversion of this 17th century house to his grandmother. The design and look of the hotel skilfully combines the ancient and modern, contrasting the soft stone of the old buildings with fascinating design pieces form the owner's s impressive modern art collection.
A supremely comfortable and welcoming addition to our Puglian programme, Lecce in general and La Fiermontina in particular come highly recommended.
