What truly sets Berry Island Wilderness Lodge apart from other bear-viewing lodges is the exceptional combination of bear encounters and marine wildlife experiences included in its guiding program. Guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding waters by boat, kayak, or paddleboard in search of whales, dolphins, harbour seals, and bald eagles that thrive in the sheltered inlets. Bear viewing remains a highlight, with guided excursions by zodiac and on foot to observe grizzly bears near Knight Inlet, while black bears are often seen foraging along the shoreline from the water.
The lodge is also recognized for its strong relationships with First Nations communities, offering engaging talks and educational excursions for guests interested in learning more about the region’s cultural heritage.
