Hanoi opens on two wheels. A vintage Vespa carries you pillion through the French Quarter, past Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and out to the serene Tran Quoc Pagoda on the lakeshore. That evening, Train Street's narrow railway alley glows under cafe lights before a hands-on dinner at the legendary Cha Ca and a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake as the Old Quarter comes alive around you.

A seaplane lifts you over the emerald waters and limestone karsts of Halong Bay and drops you onto an overnight cruise. Kayak through calm waters, explore caves, and watch sunset from the deck before the headline moment: a private fireworks show launched from a tender boat in the middle of the bay, exclusive to your family. The return flight delivers the same panorama in reverse before you head south to Hoi An.

Hoi An is where the trip shifts gear. Design a custom outfit with a local silk artisan, then go head-to-head in a family Masterchef challenge at a hidden herb farm, four rounds of cooking, foraging, and creative chaos judged by the farm's own chefs. That evening, a photography tour captures the Ancient Town's transition from golden afternoon to the soft glow of Lantern Street, finishing at Mango Mango's chef's table overlooking the open kitchen.

The final stretch moves between two very different kinds of calm. Namia River Retreat brings basket boats on the Thu B?n, conical hat painting, and a sound healing session that resets everything. Then Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, reached only by speedboat, opens up four days where the pace is entirely yours: night kayaking over illuminated coral reefs, langur discovery hikes, rock climbing, or a private movie night on the beach.

Vietnam is a year-round destination, with weather varying across the country’s diverse regions. Generally, the high season runs from February to April, when temperatures are pleasant, rainfall is low and conditions are ideal for sightseeing and beach stays. The shoulder seasons of May and October to November can also be excellent times to travel, offering good weather, fewer crowds and great value. While the summer months are typically warmer and more humid, brief tropical showers are often balanced by plenty of sunshine.
