Spa
With rolling sand dunes whichever way you look, architecture and interiors that pay tribute to the heritage of Bedouins, Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa is the perfect place to escape the bright lights of Dubai in just over an hour.
Highlights
Arguably one of the coolest locations in the UAE, set in the heart of Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve far from the bright lights of Dubai.
Whilst lying in the privacy of your own pool or on your sundeck of your villa, watch the indigenous Arabian wildlife wander past.
Either switch off and enjoy the peacefulness or immerse yourself into two complimentary desert activities on offer to you each day.
While it’s not quite an adults-only resort, no guests under the age of 10 are allowed to stay, ensuring tranquillity is the order of the day.
Al Maha is an exclusive oasis set within a 225 square kilometre desert conservation reserve. The 42 tented suites are positioned to ensure privacy but also to provide panoramic views of the desert landscape. All have terraces with private pools and look towards the dunes and the watering hole where the Arabian oryx gather during the day.
The interiors are finished with handcrafted bespoke furniture, antiques and artefacts, to create a luxurious take on the Bedouin lifestyle.
Al Maha is on a full board basis with activities included in the room rate, meaning that guests can really make the most of the property.
The Al Diwaan restaurant offers formal international dining options. You can also arrange to have meals in your suite, and dune dinners at an authentic desert encampment are a popular choice. The Timeless Spa offers a full range of beauty treatments and massages as well as housing a fully equipped gym and outdoor swimming pool.
In line with the resort’s mission to bring the heritage of the desert environment and culture to others, a selection of activities are included in the price such as archery, horse and camel riding and guided nature walks, falconry, wildlife drives and desert safaris across the stunning Al Maha landscape. Most activities are included in the room rate but some come at an extra charge. Al Maha employs naturalists and conservationists who have extensive knowledge of the desert environment and the wildlife of the surrounding area to take guests out for the activities.
