Sitting on the north-western rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, Entamanu Private affords sweeping views into the crater and across the Serengeti. Sympathetically built from glass, canvas and timber, the retreat is designed to be removed without trace yet succeeds in creating a cosy, rustically stylish home in one of the world’s most extraordinary settings. Offering a private escape for a minimum of six guests, with space for eight in four bedrooms, the camp is made up of two two-bedroom units, with a large dining area, bar, lounge and shady verandas providing space for shared time.
The bedrooms of the camp reflect their rustic, rural surrounds with neutral tones, wooden furniture and cowhide rugs combining to create a comfortable, cosy escape. The ensuite bathrooms are functional but quirky, with corrugated iron shielding the shower, and hot and cot running water, double basins and flushable toilets bringing home comforts to this remote idyll. Each looks out over the crater, with a veranda and seating area offering a spectacular viewpoint for a morning coffee or evening sundowner.
When not exploring the crater or taking a highland walk, the lounge area is an inviting spot to curl up with a book or chat with family and friends. Sheepskins cover deep armchairs and squishy sofas, while large verandas offer space to sit and gaze out over the seemingly never-ending lands of the crater. With everything at the camp designed on your terms, from mealtimes to game drives, your time is your own to spend as you wish.
With an enviable location on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater game drives from Entamanu Private can arrive earlier and often beat the crowds to the crater floor. Boasting the Big Five, a rich wealth of birdlife and varied ecosystems of savannah, forest and grasslands, the crater offers exceptional biodiversity. Game drives bring you close to the action, while a highland walk with a Maasai guide is an opportunity to discover the smaller flora and fauna of the crater rim.
For families and friends, this private escape is a home-from-home within reach of the captivating wildlife and spellbinding landscapes of the Ngorongoro Crater.
