Sarara Treehouses is located in the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy in the foothills of the Mathews Range in northern Kenya. Home to endemic species such as long-neck gerenuk, grevy’s zebra, beisa Oryx but due to its dry arid landscape some incredible game viewing as well as scenery. Migratory herds of elephants visit during the dry season making it truly a sight to see. Nestled at the foothills of the Mathews Range and high in a canopy of trees, Sarara Treehouses provides breath-taking views of the surrounding scenery from a bird’s eye view.
Set in a different side of the park to its sister camp Sarara, the Treehouses feel as if you are in a remote area with the park all to yourself. This camp comes with an infinity pool that looks out to the mountain range and overlooks the wildlife that frequently roam below.
Sarara Treehouses have eight en-suite luxury tented rooms that each come equipped with a private viewing deck and their own star bed, where you can spend your evening sleeping under a blanket of stars. There is also a family tent that allows family members to have their own tented room yet share ample living space thanks to two different bedrooms separated by the elevated walkways. Each spacious tent is equipped with a flush toilet, running hot and cold water and outdoor showers. The views of the mountains from the private terrace are awe-inspiring and thanks to the elevated position you can let the game viewing come to you.
Besides traditional game drives, what really sets Sarara Treehouses apart is the active activities you can do with your guide who is a Samburu warrior and knows the lay of the land like the back of his hand. There are plenty of walks and hikes that let you enjoy the scenery from a different angle. There are also a number of cultural experiences on offer including the chance to visit a traditional Samburu village, visiting the sacred ‘Singing Well’ where warriors bring their cattle to drink every day, beading with Samburu ladies and a visit from the tribe’s blacksmith. And of course a stay is not complete without a visit to the Retiti the elephant orphanage that has been started by Sarara

Sarara Treehouses are situated on 75,000 acres of Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust land. It is mostly dry plains, but the Sarara River flows through, and is flanked by the Mathews Ranges, giving it a truly stunning setting and a good range of habitat.
