Private intimate dinners can be arranged in the original drawing room of this 1847 Regency house and you can choose from the extensive wine cellar. Large windows overlook the circular drive with crab apple and rose garden views and Mount Wellington in the distance. On chilly Tasmanian evenings the fire can be lit or in the summer months enjoy a crisp white wine on the terrace.
The eleven sumptuously furnished guest rooms reflect an eclectic mix of a bygone era coupled with a contemporary twist. Chose from the regency rooms in the original building or the newer garden rooms with French doors leading out to the gardens - both are filled with comfortable beds, resplendent fabrics, original antiques and some fabulous art.
Amy and Nicholas welcome you and are excellent hosts, making your stay here a very personal and luxurious one, with amazing food prepared before your eyes in the hotel's welcoming open kitchen and an attention to detail that is second to none.
When to visit
Rooms 6&7 are simpler in style but and more contemporary as they are in the new extension with the best views to Mt Wellington. But I prefer the rooms in the main house, especially Room 5, which may be smaller but has a very cosy feel.
