Hiking is eagerly enjoyed in the Northern Drakensberg. Montusi provide daily morning walks on the 1000 ha. estate with a guide.
The Northern Drakensberg Mountain Bike Trails, offers all levels of rider amazing opportunities to test and grow their skills on purpose built and maintained trails. Bikes can be hired nearby.
Montusi Mountain Lodge, spectacularly situated in the Kwazulu-Natal Drakensberg halfway between Johannesburg and Durban and has uninterrupted views of the Drakensberg's iconic Amphitheatre escarpment. Guests can enjoy the stunning scenery from one of the 16 spacious suites, four of which are ideal for families and can easily accommodate four adults.
Each free-standing suite is decorated in the earthy colours of Africa and has spectacular mountain views. All the suites have tea and coffee making facilities, including a bar fridge for fresh milk. Minibar facility in the suite is available upon request. All suites have a car port for one vehicle.
The property is a fantastic base to enjoy a variety of activities, including some beautiful hiking trails, bike trails for all levels of confidence, and horse riding. Guests looking for more of an adrenaline rush can visit the nearby adventure center offering a variety of zip lines, paintballing experiences, flying trapeze and so on.
Montusi is also a tranquil sanctuary for those wishing to relax. Enjoy a lovely glass of wine beside the turquoise waters of the swimming pool, or indulge in a variety of body massages.
