Begin by flying to the buzzing capital of Mexico City, where you can find plenty of fun things to do from exploring the awe-inspiring pyramids of Teotihuacan, taking a boat trip through the floating market at Xochimilco or even cheering with the locals at a Mexican wrestling match! A tour of Teotihuacan and Xochimilco has been included for a colourful introduction to Mexican culture.

Fly to Merida, the capital of Mexico’s Yucatan state, to spend three nights at a grand and beautifully restored hacienda surrounded by lush tropical jungle near the magnificent Mayan ruins of Uxmal and Kabah. Children will love imagining themselves as Indiana Jones as they explore the incredible temple cities, or hike through the jungle to a secluded cenote for a private bathe and for the adults, there are an amazing selection of treatments to indulge in at the hotel's luxury spa. Search for fun clues and treats around the ruins of Uxmal on a fun family scavenger hunt which has been included.

Finally, head to Mexico’s glorious Caribbean Coast for five nights of fun and indulgence at the slick Banyan Tree Mayakoba, staying in one of their fabulous three-bedroom town houses with its very own private roof top pool.
When you’re not in the spa, in your villa’s private pool or hitting the beach, there’s plenty to see and do for all the family. Mayakoba has a Greg Norman-designed golf course and there are non-motorised water sports available down on the beach. Nearby snorkelling and diving is excellent and of course Mayan history and culture with the impressive Mayan archaeological sites of Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba within driving distance. It's also fantastic fun to take a kayak out into the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and look for manatees.

Mexico City can be visited visit most of the year but can sometimes be really cool in the mornings and evenings with strong sun throughout the day. Mid November to May is the best time to visit the Caribbean coast of Mexico. June to November can be affected by tropical storms, with the highest risk usually in September and October.
