A tropical retreat, Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, is located next to the world's second largest reef surrounded by 200 acres of jungle and plantation preserve.

The 63 guest rooms and suites are decorated in a traditional Mexican style with hand painted tiles, mahogany furnishings and soft wool rugs. Bathrooms are well appointed with sunken baths and thatched roof terraces offer stunning views of the ocean and jungle. Families are very welcome here.

There are 3 restaurants with ocean views serving innovative Mexican cuisine, a juice bar and a tequila & ceviche bar. Guests can enjoy excellent Yucatan inspired cuisine served in an oceanfront dining area or under the thatched palapa on the beach. By night, the beach front dining area is illuminated with candles and torches. A range of dining experiences are offered on a weekly basis from tequila tasting classes to cocktail lessons and traditional BBQ dinners.

Facilities at the Maroma resort include three swimming pools, two tennis courts, the Kinan spa offering a variety of treatments, and a rooftop yoga pavilion with 360-degree views of the jungle. The spa and wellness centre offers a range of spa and beauty treatments including facials, massages, yoga and reiki.

Given its privileged beach location, one can enjoy a long list of water sports, including snorkelling, diving, sailing, parasailing, sport fishing, kayaking and swimming with dolphins. It's also possible to arrange excursions to nearby Mayan ruins such as Coba and Tulum.
