Chhatra Sagar consists of 20 modern luxurious tents and although built solidly as soon as you enter the room you certainly feel as though you are in a comfortable stylish tent. Each one has been beautifully designed with tones to match the outdoors. With a sitting area overlooking a breathtaking lake and a sky light for star gazing there are plenty of reasons to enjoy the space. The property is open all year round which is rare for India and the tents have air conditioning units and heaters.
There is a restaurant which is on the dam under an open-sided tent so you can gaze across the lake whilst dining. On the menu you will find delicious Indian cuisine using old family recipes, most of the herbs and vegetables are grown on the farms around the camp. International cuisine is also on the menu along with a wide choice of drinks from India tea to your favourite cocktail.
The property is a truly peaceful place in which to relax after visiting the bustling Indian cities. Bird watching, nature walks around the lake and the surrounding countryside and jeep safaris are complimentary at RAAS Chhatra Sagar and there are a wealth of other activities to explore the enchanting landscape and experience the fascinating local culture.
You will also find a large heated infinity style swimming pool and a RAAS Spa offering a range of Ayurvedic treatments. Yoga on request is also available.
When to visit
Go to this property before March, especially if the Moonsoon has been light, otherwise the water may have disappeared and the wildlife might not be so abundant!
