Previously known as Orange County Coorg, Evolve Back Coorg on the Chikkana Halli Estate is located far from the main tourist routes, and as such retains a sense of being away from it all. There are a number of different villas which offer a living cum sleeping area with attached bathroom.
For families, there is a family pool whilst guests looking for some down time can relax in the reading lounge which overlooks lush green paddy fields below. Dining options include three restaurants, Peppercorn is a must for a delicious grilled dinner, whilst for couples private dining can be arranged by the lake or in your own villa.
Evolve Back Coorg is an excellent intimate retreat for discovering the local surroundings. Close to the hotel you can take a plantation tour, take a boat out on Cauvery River, or take a walk with a guide through Dubare Reserve. Among the attractions outside the estate is Bylekuppe, the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet. The Golden Temple has some very impressive 40-foot high golden idols of Buddha. The prayer sessions are a sight to behold too, as more than 400 monks chant in unison.
There are also a number of temples and local villages in the area that you can explore. In short, Evolve Back Coorg is perfect for a few days relaxing, or for the more active, a good base to explore what the local area has to offer.
