Day 1:Your time in Budapest begins at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, where a private transfer brings you from the airport to one of the city's most iconic addresses. Sitting at the foot of the Chain Bridge, the Art Nouveau palace looks across the Danube towards Castle Hill, its stained-glass details and grand interiors offering an immediate sense of the city's rich past.As the afternoon slips into evening, head out onto the river aboard a private Venetian-style speedboat. With Parliament glowing against the dusk sky and the hills of Buda fading into silhouette, it's a wonderful way to gain your bearings before returning to the hotel for dinner at Kollázs Brasserie & Bar, where Hungarian ingredients and regional wines take centre stage.Day 2:Today reveals the two sides of Budapest that have shaped the city's identity. Accompanied by your private guide, begin among the cobbled streets and baroque architecture of Buda's Castle District, pausing at Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion, where some of the city's finest views stretch across the Danube.Crossing the Chain Bridge into Pest, the atmosphere changes. Grand boulevards, elegant squares and imposing public buildings speak to Budapest's imperial past, while the Jewish Quarter offers a more intimate perspective. Here, the Great Synagogue on Dohany Street, hidden courtyards and independent cafés sit alongside reminders of the neighbourhood's complex history, bringing another layer to your understanding of the city.Back at the Gresham Palace, unwind with a cocktail at MÚZSA bar, one of Budapest's most elegant drinking spots.Day 3:This morning, follow the Danube north to Szentendre, a charming riverside town known for its colourful houses, artists' studios and easy pace of life. Away from Budapest's grandeur, the narrow lanes and independent galleries offer a glimpse into a quieter side of Hungary. The day continues at Gödöllo Palace, the much-loved residence of Empress Sisi. Wandering through elegant reception rooms and landscaped gardens, you'll gain an insight into the world of the Austro-Hungarian court before returning to the capital.Back at Four Seasons Gresham Palace, it's time to slow the pace. A signature Hungarian Moor Mud Therapy combines mineral-rich mud sourced from Hungary's renowned spa regions with a restorative facial and massage, leaving the remainder of the day free to relax overlooking the river.Day 4:Leaving Budapest behind, travel into the heart of Tokaj, Hungary's UNESCO-listed wine region, where volcanic soils, autumn mists and centuries of expertise have created some of Europe's most distinctive wines. The region is famed for producing Tokaj Aszú, one of the world's most distinctive sweet wines and famously described by Louis XIV as "the wine of kings and the king of wines”.Accompanied by a local wine expert, explore historic underground cellars and sample crisp Furmint and Hárslevelu alongside the celebrated Tokaj Aszú. You'll also visit the renowned Royal Tokaji Winery, founded in 1990 by a group of local and international wine enthusiasts with the aim of restoring Tokaj's reputation as one of the world's great wine regions.Returning to Budapest later in the day, you'll transfer onwards to your river cruise or onward flight, bringing this rewarding city stay to a close.Where to stay

Budapest is a year-round destination. The Christmas markets are particularly fun and great for getting into the festive spirit. The city looks particularly beautiful in Spring, especially around April when the magnolia trees come into blossom. Some of the best weather for sight-seeing can be had in autumn, when days are generally mild and clear.
