Regensburg, situated on the most northern point of the river Danube, is one of the oldest cities in Germany. It was first mentioned in 770, but it is estimated that its history is much older. Since 2006 the historic center of Regensburg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Together with your guide, you will explore the lovely town. The most famous places of Regensburg are the Steinerne Bruecke (Stone Bridge) with the Bruckturm (Bridge Tower), one of the most important bridges of the Middle Ages, which served as sample for the famous Charles’ Bridge in Prague.
See the Bischofshof, the former residence of the Bishop of Regensburg, as well as the Porta Praetoria, a Roman city gate. Besides the Porta Nigra of Trier this is the only still existing Roman gate north of the Alps.
Other important places to visit are the St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Golden Tower or the old Salzstadel (Salt storage).
In addition, you can visit Castle St. Emmeram, the castle of family of Thurn und Taxis.
