Spread over three pits, these incredible statues are steeped in legend. Your guide will lead you through the interesting history as you hear more about Qin Shi Huangdi’s fear of dangerous spirits and how the terracotta statues of infantrymen, archers and cavalry riders were built to protect him in the afterlife.
Take note of the incredible craftsmanship that gave each warrior a different face and costume. Aside from the three pits, which all showcase a different stage of excavation, there is also a small museum nearby that houses two splendid bronze chariots found in 1980 west of the mausoleum.
