OIÁ Atins is a seasonal guesthouse in the fishing village of Atins, on the western edge of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Open from May to October each year, it brings the aesthetic and hospitality philosophy of OIÁ to a second, distinct corner of this extraordinary landscape: a lively, sea-facing village that combines a genuine local culture with some of the Park's most spectacular dune and lagoon scenery.
The property operates in partnership with Casa Gota d'Áya, with six bungalows accommodating a maximum of 16 guests. Each bungalow has a private balcony and a semi open-air bathroom, set within a landscape where the design deliberately steps back to let the surroundings lead. Shared spaces include a swimming pool, living room, garden and a yoga area, all oriented around the same guiding principle of sophisticated simplicity and deep integration with nature.
Gastronomy plays a central role. Breakfast features fresh local produce and regional delicacies, with lunch served in the field during excursions using seasonal ingredients and selected drinks. In the evenings, the village itself becomes the dining room: Atins has a good range of restaurants, though a light dinner at the guesthouse is always available.
Included experiences are designed to reveal the best of the region, from watching scarlet ibis turn the sky red at dusk to kayaking through the igarapé and visiting the lagoons at sunrise. Optional kitesurfing, yoga and massage round out the programme. For guests who want to go further, a combined itinerary links OIÁ Atins with OIÁ Casa Lençóis in Santo Amaro, connected by a guided trek through the Park: one of the most memorable ways to experience Lençóis Maranhenses end to end.
