Description
This exciting journey takes you from the Victoria Falls on the great Zambezi River to the wildlife and flood plains of the beautiful Okavango Delta.
Tongabezi sits on the banks of the Zambezi 18km from the spectacular Victoria Falls. The lodge offers a variety of activities, from visiting the falls to exploring the river by boat. For the more adventurous the lodge can arrange for you to go white-water rafting. The lodge itself is a haven of tranquillity and offers first-class cuisine.
Then journey into the magical Okavango Delta. Your first three nights will be spent at Duma Tau close to the source of the Savute Channel in the northern Linyanti area. The camp offers guided nature walks, game drives, boating and, depending on water levels, fishing is also an option.
Xigera is located in the southwest corner of the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the delta and offers a different experience of the area. This camp is known for its permanent water all year so offers activities such as mokoro trips, guided walks, game drives and boat trips.
Duba Plains is a wonderfully remote camp within a private concession in the northern part or the delta. The game in the area is fantastic and was the setting for a National Geographic documentary about the classic lion and buffalo interaction that is unique to the area.
Jack's Camp is a wonderful place to end your safari - luxurious yet understated, it stands on the awe-inspiring Makgadikgadi Pans and offers a fascinating insight into this beguiling area of Botswana. Take a game drive with your naturalist guide to see the meerkats, quad bike deep into the pans, or enjoy a morning's bush walk with the San bushmen, who will show you their traditions, passed down through the years.

When to travel
There are three seasons in Zambia: the dry season (mid-April to August), when temperatures drop at night, but the landscape is green and lush; the hot season (September to mid-November), the best time to see wildlife as flora is sparse; and, the wet season (mid-November to mid-April), ideal for bird-watching.
