Description

On arrival in Nairobi you will fly straight to the Maasai Mara.

Naibor Camp is one of our favourite camps in the Maasai Mara - a beautiful tented camp situated under shade trees on the banks of the Talek River. Superbly situated, the camp is within easy reach of the spectacle of the Great Migration river crossings over the Mara River, and the guiding is excellent. The tents are spacious and airy, each with a private day area to relax during the day with the sounds of the hippos grunting beneath you. In the evenings gather around the camp fire and exchange stories while the chefs prepare a delicious dinner.

From Naibor you will head to the spice island of Zanzibar for a stay at Baraza Resort & Spa. Baraza is arguably the best resort in Zanzibar, offering a very high standard of accommodation in 30 one- and two-bedroom villas alongside a beautiful stretch of white-sand beach. Each of the spacious villas comprises a living area with day-bed, large bathroom, private terrace and plunge pool. There is also a well-equipped gym, large outdoor swimming pool, large spa with lap pool and yoga room, and two tennis courts.

There is also a Presidential Villa which comprises two bedrooms with a private garden and larger plunge pool as well as an extra, small bedroom for a nanny or member of staff.

Itinerary

When to travel

The only time to avoid Kenya is during the long rainy season in April and May. November is considered the short rainy season, however, these are less predictable and are much lighter. The best time of year to visit the Maasai Mara is during the Great Wildebeest Migration which tends to pass through the Mara between mid July to late October.

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit.
