Description

From thrilling safari to remote coastline, Kenya is pure magic. Wake up to a giraffe wandering past your bedroom window and warthogs at the front door at Giraffe Manor, a country house-style property in the leafy Nairobi suburb of Karen. Guests are encouraged to feed the giraffe, who eagerly poke their heads through windows of the breakfast room.

From lakeshore to open plains, wake up next in a handmade bed at Loisaba, perched high on the edge of the Laikipia plateau, offering the ultimate in secluded luxury. Loisaba is home to a wealth of wildlife that includes elephants, lions, leopards and rare species of gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and the reticulated giraffe. For the ultimate night sky experience stay in one of Loisaba’s unique star beds situated in the heart of the bush overlooking a moonlit waterhole.

Complete your Kenyan adventure with a private deluxe tented camp at Saruni Wild in the Mara North Conservancy. You will be the only guests at the camp experiencing the real Africa in utter isolation, witnessing wildlife in total privacy or learning bush skills from the world class Maasai warriors.

When to travel

Kenya is a dry country, with regional variations in temperature and rainfall. On the coast, the weather is tropical with high humidity in April and May, and occasional monsoon winds. Inland (including the Central Highlands and Rift Valley) the climate is temperate. The long rains fall from March to May and the short rains fall from late October to December. The best time to visit is usually July to February, and the wildebeest migration usually occurs from mid-July to September.
