Description
Situated in the peaceful Stadle area of St Anton, Lodge Christoph is a superb Premier chalet with four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Lodge Christoph is one of the four Arlberg Lodges which were created when an old sawmill was converted in 2006. The long building was divided into four chalets, Adler, Bodensee, Christoph and Danube, to create some of the finest chalet accommodation in St Anton. While Lodge Christoph sleeps 8 in great comfort and privacy, the layout of the building lends itself well to larger groups wanting to take more than one lodge - we can accommodate up to 36 in en-suite accommodation and the shared balcony has an exterior fireplace where gluhwein and canapés can be served to larger groups.
All four lodges are similar in style, characterised by deep rich colours and a contemporary style, but maintaining a traditional chalet feeling in the wooden beams and floors. The large en-suite bedrooms (25-35 m2) are on the ground and lower ground floors. Every bedroom is equipped with wide Austrian twin/double beds on polished wooden floors, and a flat screen TV with DVD player. The bathrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with modern Italian tiles. The baths and walk-in showers are huge, and the Zucchetti fittings lend a highly contemporary touch.
Upstairs, the superbly comfortable open plan living space has vaulted ceilings, deep sofas and a blazing log fire to create a real chalet or log cabin atmosphere. The flat screen TV can be used to watch a film, UK satellite TV, the footage from the day's skiing or to play on the Xbox 360. There is also an iPad for our guests' use.
Please note, the industrial kitchen (staff only) is shared with Lodge Danube and is locked at night and during the day when staff are not present. However, there is a fully stocked drinks fridge, 2 ring hob and tea and coffee making facilities for guests to use at any time.
The fabulous Wellness area is also on the top floor. The sanarium (sauna combined with steam room) is ideal for relaxing aching muscles and, out on the roof, the outdoor hot tub allows you to relax and look up at the stars in complete privacy,

Activities
St Anton is just one part of the awesome Arlberg. The excellent snow record combined with such an extensive area means it should be high on the list for any good skier. The backcountry potential is such that a guide is essential if you wish to do more than scratch the surface. While the terrain can be challenging for those with only a few weeks’ experience, the Rendl area offers some easier runs and plenty of sun.
Aside from the skiing, St Anton exudes character and charm and the Tyrolean hospitality is not to be missed. The village itself is what Alpine villages should be like and there is a wealth of good restaurants shops. St Anton is famous for après ski and the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh are world-renowned.
The wellness centre, the Well.com is highly acclaimed and there is masses more to do, including walking, rock climbing, ice skating, sleigh riding, curling, tennis squash and plenty more.

When to travel
St Anton has an enviable reputation for its snow. The Eastern Alps frequently benefit from early snow and the largely pastoral terrain does not need a hugely deep base to offer great skiing conditions. As a result, St Anton frequently offers some of the best skiing in the Alps in December and January. The microclimate means that snowfalls are more prolific than in many other resorts and with plenty of skiing above 2000 metres, conditions can be great right up until late April.
