The Middle East provides a stark contrast between the modern cities of the Emirates, such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and the traditional Bedouin way of life out in the desert. Oman’s wadis are lush oases in the middle of the arid desert, whilst beautiful Muscat lies between the mountains and the Arabian Sea. The Middle East also boasts the cities of ancient civilisations such as Jordan’s fascinating rock-carved city of Petra, and the Roman ruins of Jerash. A fascinating place to visit, and great for those who seek a sunshine guarantee at almost any time of year.

Jordan, a middle-eastern country offers many experiences for travellers. Spend a night under starry skies in the rolling sand dunes, explore Petra and the Roman remains at Jerash, or relax in luxury by the Dead Sea. The nature reserve at Dana also provides beautiful scenery.

Oman is located just below Saudi Arabia on the Arabian Peninsula and has a lively culture and famous rolling sand dunes. Meander through Muscat’s bustling souks, visit the Sultan’s beautiful Palace, and head into the Wahiba Sands which has the stunning Wadi Gul with a 1km drop.

The United Arab Emirates is an ever changing country that is both glamorous and extraordinary. Made up of seven Emirates, and dominated by the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai (who tends to take all the glory), there is a lot more to this small country than meets the eye.
