Description

The private house is designed with a stylish and contemporary feel to it. With retro trinkets, Zulu crafts and sleek, modern touches the design reinforces that this private safari villa is designed for comfort and ease.

The generous courtyards, ponds and living areas all open up to the landscape beyond. The large sliding windows give a sense of space and light and each room has wonderful views out to the African bush. The beds are purposely positioned so your game viewing experience begins the second you open your eyes!

With your own dedicated game ranger and tracker, as well as your own private vehicle, there are no set times for game drives. In this way, you have the freedom to do any activity at your own pace.

Meals are an important part of the day on safari and a huge effort goes into finding different dining locations and creating imaginative menus. Coffee, cold drinks and sundowners are served by the attentive and friendly staff.

There is a gorgeous pool to relax by in the heat of the day. The Homestead at andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is a fabulous choice for any family or group of friends wanting to be incredibly well looked after and experience some fantastic game viewing.

Activities

Game drives, walking and birdwatching are all included in room rates. Activities at an additional charge include scuba diving and scenic flights for an astonishing bird's-eye view of Phinda's varying habitats. Thanks to its coastal rainfall pattern, Phinda enjoys a lush green environment that contains seven distinct ecosystems - a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, rivercourses, marshes and pans. The diverse wildlife this brings is nothing short of sensational.

When to travel

As a country in the Southern Hemisphere South Africa's seasons are the reverse of the north - with winter in June-August and summer December-February. Game viewing is better during the drier months of April to September. The wildflower season is generally from mid August to mid September. The whale watching season runs from June to November.
