The Great Migration
Each year on the vast plains of East Africa more than a million wildebeest and zebra complete one of the natural world’s greatest journeys. From their breeding grounds in the southern Serengeti the animals are forced to move north in search of food and water. Travelling up through Tanzania, endlessly pursued by hungry predators they finally reach the lush feeding grounds of the Maasai Mara. But before they get there they face one last hurdle – they must cross a network of crocodile-infested rivers. As thousands of animals pour across the dangerous waters a chaotic battle for survival ensues.
Like any other natural event the timing of the wildebeest migration is unpredictable. Before planning a safari to East Africa contact one of our consultants who can give you first hand advice about the best possible chance of experiencing this extraordinary phenomenon.
