You will begin your honeymoon in the cliff top setting of Uluwatu, on the southern peninsula of the island of Bali. Famed as a surf mecca, it is close to some of the island’s best beaches and the spectacular Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff. Here, on a peaceful cliff top with incredible views is Alila Villas Uluwatu. Extremely contemporary in design, the villas here are incredible - exceptionally spacious, they offer total privacy, with your own private swimming pool, and a 24-hour butler. The cliff top location is extremely romantic with the most phenomenal views, especially at sunset, cocktail in hand.
From here, you will travel to the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud, staying at the beautiful Chedi Club on the Tanah Gajah estate. Set only a short drive from the quaint streets of Ubud town, The Chedi Club is set amidst flat paddy fields with a tranquil atmosphere – the ideal place to relax and soak up some of Bali’s rich culture. Your Pool Villa is extremely private with beautiful views across the rice fields and is appointed in a traditional Balinese fashion whilst being furnished with all modern comforts. Should you be lured away from your pool villa, explore the bustling streets of Ubud, where artisan shops and galleries rub shoulders with colourful markets and ornate temples.
From the lush and verdant heart of the island, travel to the remote and unspoilt east coast for a stay at the majestic Amankila. This serene and elegant property is perched on a cliff overlooking the Lombok Straits and the islands beyond. The views at Amankila are second to none and you can spend your days soaking up the views by their amazing 3-tiered infinity pool, or down at the fantastic beach club just a short walk or buggy ride away, with Bales perfect for relaxing on one of our favourite beaches on the island. There are a multitude of activities to try in the area, including diving, trekking and mountain biking. Each suite at Amankila is furnished in understated luxury is of course tended to by a 24 hour butler.
This itinerary is perfect for those looking for an utterly luxurious, Balinese honeymoon, taking time to explore the rich and vibrant culture and relaxing in the most stunning surroundings.
When to travel
Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid, with relative humidity averaging 85% and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
