Description

Wonderful architecture combined with avant-garde interior décor and furnishings mean that this chalet oozes character and class. Among the finest chalets in Val d'Isère, Chalet Alice occupies the position at the top of the road guaranteeing complete privacy and, being slightly elevated, this magnificent luxury ski chalet has great views over the Isère valley.

Despite being close to the centre of the village, Chalet Alice's secluded location guarantees peace and quiet, yet the main lift station takes only a couple of minutes to reach in one of our chauffeured 4x4s, or less than 10 minutes to walk.

The ground floor exemplifies the modern luxury chalet and is a real playground. The indoor swimming pool with jet stream and hammam are ideal for relaxing after a long day skiing and if the weather is bad, you may be tempted to not even leave the comfort of the chalet! There is also a TV room with a games console and satellite channels where you can watch a film in peace or where children can play to their hearts' content. The spacious ski room is equipped with boot-warmers and gives direct access to the 4x4 waiting for you outside.

On the first floor, three of the en-suite bedrooms perfectly combine the Alpine rusticity of heavy antique wooden beams with ultra modern touches such as washbowl basins and chrome towel rails and are finished with super-stylish furniture.

The living space is double height with huge windows making the most of the valley views and the open fireplace and large south facing terrace mean that you need never lack for warmth whatever the weather. The unique slate dining table is the perfect place to experience our famous hospitality and mouthwatering cuisine, while enjoying quality time in the company of friends and family.

Upstairs, the large master suite occupies the whole top floor and offers the party leader intimacy and Alpine chalet authenticity.

Chalet Alice is a great place for a skiing holiday for families of two or three generations but perhaps even better for parties of friends. As with all our Premier chalets the service is exquisite. Champagne receptions and five-course dinners are served by our charming, professional staff and a wide choice of breakfast options are served on all seven days to ensure that you are ready to hit the slopes every morning. Perhaps most importantly, our team will go out of their way to ensure you have a truly fabulous luxury skiing holiday.

Guide price £1,980 per person per week (Jan)

£1,980 based on a full chalet for 7 nights in mid January. The price includes scheduled flights, transfers, a Scott Dunn chef, hosts and food. Includes Champagne reception on six evenings.

Accommodation

Chalet Alice features 4 twin/double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. The master suite is particularly spacious and occupies the 3rd floor mezzanine guaranteeing privacy and all rooms stylishly combine alpine rusticity and eclectic modern touches. All rooms have safes.

Childcare

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.

Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Solyneou benefit from our exclusive children's club. Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, usually free of charge.

Facilities

Facilities in the chalet include an indoor swimming pool with jet stream, Steam room on ground floor, ski/boot room with boot warmers. Television, DVD player, iPad, games console and a selection of games, Internet and telephone.

Activities

Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.

Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The new Oxygen centre has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.

Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.

There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Services

Chalet Alice is complemented by our Premier service. Our team pride themselves on ensuring that service is seamless and anticipating your every need. Your private chef will serve mouthwatering dishes from a menu tailored to your tastes. Your hosts will manage your whole holiday, from restaurant bookings to ensuring a smart 4 wheel drive vehicle is ready to take you skiing and keeping your glass topped up with a carefully chosen wine or a perfectly mixed gin & tonic.

A la carte breakfast is served daily, gourmet dinners offered on six nights and wine, Champagne and spirits are included. Our driver service offers a fleet of 4x4s to whisk you around the resort. Organic bathroom products, slippers, towels and bathrobes await after a hard day on the slopes.

Above all, our Premier service is personal and we will endeavour to make your stay your perfect holiday.

When to travel

Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.
