Description

The Anantara Phuket Villas are set on Mai Khao, Phuket's longest stretch of endless white sandy beach. The waters here are turquoise, clear and teeming with aquatic wildlife, and the nearby national park with its waterfalls, orchids and thick jungle offers guests and alternative to Phuket as simply a tropical beach destination.

The hotel's 83 one-bedroom pool villas are all scattered along the beachfront and are all inspired by Thai architecture, with spacious indoor and outdoor areas. Some villas come with private walled gardens whilst others are located on the edge of the resort’s lagoon.

The Anantara Phuket offers a wide choice of gourmet dining options and bars in unique locations and facilities include a spa with elixirs, treatments, wraps and massage techniques from around the world and a stunning beachside infinity pool. The hotel is located on a protected beach that is ideal for long walks.

Accommodation

All of Anantara's 83 Pool Villas have indoor and outdoor rain showers, an outdoor terrazzo bathtub and hardwood sundeck with loungers. Inside every personal comfort is taken care of with ipod docking stations, wifi, LCD TV and DVD and espresso machines. The Pool Villas are closest to the spa, the Garden Pool Villas are set in the resort's gardens, The Lagoon Pool Villas are closest to the beach and main facilities and Sala Lagoon Villas have the addition of private salas built over the lagoon.

Childcare

Children are very welcome at Anantara where the Turtle Club gets them involved in arts and crafts, nature activities and games. Babysitting is also available.

Facilities

La Sala offers wonderful fresh cuisine with Thai and Mediterranean flavours while Sea Fire Salt is perfect for beachside seafood. The Tree House bar is built around an old Banyan Tree and serves Thai tapas and Infinity Bar has healthy fresh food and great cocktails. For a formal dinner eat in The Tasting Room where each course is complemented by the perfect wine or have a romantic private meal at your desired location. There is also a spa, infinity pool, fully equipped gym and 3 tennis courts.

Activities

Anantara offers non-motorised water sports such as sailing, kayaks and windsurfers. There is also yoga, aerobics, Thai cooking classes and mountain biking ranging from short routes to full day tours with a picnic.

When to travel

Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
